About

This blog came about because of my life experiences, personally and professionally. You see, I had been with my husband Randy for 28 years.  He was an amazing soul that changed many lives. No, he wasn’t the President, or a CEO, or anyone in a powerful position, other than just being a great human being.  He was a CRNA by profession, with many hobbies that kept him in a position to cross paths with so many different people every day. He completed random acts of kindness each day and he didn’t discriminate who he gave these to.  He helped everyone. He was a man who lived life to the fullest. There was no man that did a better job of living his life in his own way with the only magnetic north being doing as much good as possible.  I was always in awe of him and so grateful to be married to such an amazing man.  I had a fabulous life…. then, he was in a bike accident and after 43 days of hospitalization, he died.  My world, as I knew it, was turned upside down. I’m an RN, Care Manager by profession. We both worked at the same hospital for most of our careers. I used many of my care management skills during his long hospital stay, however, after 20 plus years as a Care Manager, I gained a different perspective this time….. I was a family member first and a Care Manager second. I was able to see everything from the other side. In this blog, I want to share with you important learnings from before, during and after Randy’s death. I will touch on many topics such as "Randyisms", leaving behind a legacy, living a servant’s life, always finding the silver lining, being grateful, feeding your soul, organ donation advance care planning, advance directives, health insurance, life insurance, filling your karma bank, collecting physical memories from loved ones, and many more. I hope you will join me on this journey.

The Randy Tracy Project

I had the honor and privilege of spending the last 28 years with Randy Tracy. He was an amazing human  being, full of love, kindness, energy and laughter. There was no man that did a better job of living his life in his own way with the only magnetic north being to do as much good as possible..  He taught many people how to live through his example, including  me. Randy died from a mountain biking accident December 15, 2018, doing what he loved, his legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.
